Summit Lifting Devices — our own line
Summit Lifting Devices — below-the-hook lifting devices built in Minnesota
Summit Lifting Devices is a division of Sharrow Lifting Products, and it is the one line on this page we do not buy in. Every Summit device is designed, welded, painted and load tested in our own shop in Little Canada.

What we carry from Summit Lifting Devices
We have sold other people's below-the-hook devices for sixty years, and we still do — Peerless, M&W, Caldwell all have their place. Summit exists for the lifts where a catalogue device is close but not right: an odd span, a headroom problem, a pick point that has to land somewhere specific. You spec it, we build it, and you can phone the people who built it.
More than the box
What we do with Summit Lifting Devices hardware
The reason to buy the line from a shop that also fabricates and inspects: the assembly, the certification and the repair all come from the same place.

Questions
Summit Lifting Devices, answered straight
- Who makes Summit lifting devices?
- We do. Summit is Sharrow Lifting Products' own line, fabricated at our shop in Little Canada, Minnesota. It is not a brand we distribute for someone else.
- What standard are they built to?
- ASME BTH-1, the design standard for below-the-hook lifting devices, Category B with a design factor of 2.00. Every beam is signed off by our engineer against your actual lift, proof load tested, and shipped with its certificate.
- How long does a custom beam take?
- It depends on the size and what else is on the floor, so we will give you a real date with the quote rather than a number off a website. Send the spec through and we will tell you.
- Can you build something that isn't a lifting beam?
- Usually, yes — spreader bars, coil and plate handling, frames for an awkward part. Tell us what you are lifting. If a catalogue device off one of our other lines does the job cheaper, we will say so.
