Which grade?
Grade 100 carries roughly 25% more than Grade 80 at the same size, so you can often drop a size and save weight. Grade 80 is the long-standing standard and what most existing rigging already uses. The two are never mixed within one assembly. If you’re repairing or extending a sling, match what’s already on it.

Two things worth checking
Fittings have to match the chain. Hooks and links are sized to a specific chain size and grade, and an assembly is only rated if the parts match. See the fittings.
