A ratchet lever hoist for pulling and positioning at any angle, not just vertically. The short handle and free-chaining make it the tool for tensioning and drawing things together as much as lifting.

Worth knowing
Lever hoists have a published MINIMUM load as well as a maximum. Below it the brake may not set reliably, which is in the table for every model.
