Web slings are made to length, so there's no shelf of finished sizes to pick from. Tell us the type, width, ply, and length and we'll build it — most common sizes ship fast.

Know the load but not the size? The sling calculator works out angle, leg length and the load per leg, then points back here.

Choosing a type

Three types, one decision

Width and ply set the capacity. The type sets how the sling behaves in your hitch.

Type 3 — Flat eye and eye web sling

Type 3

Flat eye and eye

The most widely used web sling. Flat eyes lie in the same plane as the sling body, which makes it easy to handle and quick to rig in a vertical or basket hitch. This is the one most customers mean when they say “web sling”.

Best for

  • General vertical and basket lifting
  • Protecting finished or coated surfaces
  • Anywhere a lighter, cheaper alternative to chain will do
Type 4 — Twisted eye and eye web sling

Type 4

Twisted eye and eye

Identical webbing and rated capacity to Type 3, but the eyes are turned 90° to the body. That twist lets the eye sit flat against a hook in a choker hitch instead of fighting the sling body — the difference matters when you choke a lot.

Best for

  • Frequent choker hitches
  • Rigging where the eye needs to sit square on the hook
  • Crews that want one sling that chokes cleanly and still baskets
Type 5 — Endless web sling

Type 5

Endless

Also called a grommet sling. With no eyes and no fittings, the wear point can be rotated around the loop, so an endless sling often outlives an eye-and-eye of the same rating. Versatile in vertical, choker, and basket hitches.

Best for

  • Choker hitches and bundling
  • Getting longer service life by rotating the wear point
  • Applications where eyes get chewed up quickly

Capacity

Rated capacities, published

Polyester, 5:1 design factor. Basket figures are for a vertical (90°) basket — any sling angle reduces capacity, and a tag on the sling is always the final authority.

Before you order

Web slings wear out faster than you think

They're light, cheap, and kind to finished surfaces — and they are the sling most likely to be in service past its useful life. OSHA 1910.184 and ASME B30.9 require inspection by a competent person.

  • Remove from service on any cut, hole, snag, or broken stitching
  • Remove from service if the tag is missing or unreadable — no tag, no lift
  • Keep web away from sharp edges; use sleeves, pads, or corner protectors
  • Watch for chemical and UV damage, which can weaken web with no visible sign
  • A choker hitch never exceeds 80% of vertical capacity
  • Basket capacity shown assumes a 90° vertical basket, not an angled one
