Rigging hardware
Shackles
Crosby and CM, screw pin, bolt type, and round pin, carbon and alloy. Search by size and type and you'll see both brands together — every part number below is one we actually stock and sell.
Choosing a shackle
Pin type is the decision that matters
Capacity is easy to look up. Picking the wrong pin for the application is what gets people hurt.
Screw pin
Fast to connect and disconnect. Use where the shackle comes off after the lift. Don't use it where the pin can rotate against a moving load — it can back out.
Bolt type
Bolt, nut, and cotter pin. The right answer for long-term or permanent installations, and anywhere the pin might rotate under load.
Round pin
Tie-down, towing, and suspension only. Never use a round pin shackle where the load can slide along the pin and side-load it.
Before you order
- Working load limit must exceed the load, including any sling angle multiplier
- Never side-load a shackle beyond its rated reduction
- Match the jaw width to what's going in it — chain, web sling, or multiple legs
- Galvanized for outdoor and corrosive service, self colored for shop use
- Alloy gets you more capacity in a smaller, lighter body
- Never replace a shackle pin with a bolt
Families we stock
Crosby
The most widely specified rigging hardware in North America. If a job spec names a shackle, it usually names a Crosby.
- G-209 / S-209 — Screw Pin Anchor
- The workhorse screw pin anchor shackle. Quick to connect and disconnect, best where the shackle comes off after the lift and the pin can't rotate under load.
- G-209A — Alloy Screw Anchor Pin
- Alloy screw pin anchor shackle — alloy capacity with the convenience of a screw pin.
- G-210 — Screw Pin Chain
- Screw pin chain shackle — narrower jaw than an anchor shackle, sized to chain rather than webbing or multiple legs.
- G-213 — Round Pin Anchor
- Round pin anchor shackle for tie-down, towing, and suspension work. Not for applications where the load can slide along the pin.
- G-2130 / S-2130 — Bolt Type Anchor
- Bolt, nut, and cotter pin. The right choice for long-term or permanent installations and anywhere the pin could rotate and back out.
- G-2130A — Alloy Bolt Type Anchor Shackles Grade 8
- Grade 8 alloy bolt type anchor shackle for higher capacities in a compact body.
- G-2130CT — COLD TUFF® Bolt Type Anchor
- COLD TUFF bolt type anchor shackle, rated for service at low temperatures.
- G-2130E — Easy-Loc®
- Easy-Loc bolt type anchor shackle, designed for faster pin handling without losing bolt-type security.
- G-2140 — Alloy Bolt Type Anchor
- Alloy bolt type anchor shackle. Higher working load limit in a smaller, lighter body than carbon equivalents.
- G-2140CT — COLD TUFF® Alloy Bolt Type Anchor
- COLD TUFF alloy bolt type anchor shackle for low-temperature service.
- G-2140E — Alloy Easy-Loc®
- Alloy Easy-Loc shackle — alloy capacity with faster pin handling.
- G-215 — Round Pin Chain
- Round pin chain shackle for tie-down and suspension applications using chain.
- G-2150 — Bolt Type Chain
- Bolt type chain shackle. Chain-profile jaw with the security of a bolt, nut, and cotter.
- G-2160 — Wide Body
- Wide body shackle. The broad bow spreads load across synthetic slings and improves sling life considerably.

- Easy-Loc wide body shackle, combining the wide bow with quicker assembly.
- G-2169 — Alloy Screw Pin Wide Body
- Alloy screw pin wide body shackle — wide bearing surface with a screw pin.

CM
Columbus McKinnon, made in Chattanooga. Strong American-made alternative, and the Super Strong line carries more load in the same nominal size.
- CM Anchor — Alloy Screw Pin Anchor Shackle
- CM's American-made anchor shackle, screw pin. The direct equivalent of a G-209 in most applications.
- CM Bolt Type Anchor — Bolt Type Anchor Shackle
- Bolt, nut, and cotter anchor shackle for permanent or long-term installation.
- CM Long Reach — Long Reach Anchor Shackle
- Extended body for reaching through deep or recessed attachment points where a standard shackle won't fit.
Don't forget
Shackles are inspection items too
OSHA and ASME B30.26 require rigging hardware to be inspected by a competent person. We inspect, tag, and document shackles alongside your slings — and take the failed ones out of service.
