Fall protection · Rigid Lifelines

Permanent overhead systems

Enclosed rigid track hung from the building or on its own columns, with a trolley that follows the worker so the anchor stays overhead and a fall stays short. Every one of these is engineered to the building and the work — spans, heights and mounts are the quote, not a list price.

Before you choose

A 6 ft lanyard needs roughly 18 ft below the anchor once free fall, deceleration, harness stretch and the worker’s own height are added up. Most places don’t have it. Work the clearance out first.

Column-Mounted Swing Arm

Column-Mounted Swing Arm

Rigid Lifelines

Rigid Lifelines® Column-Mounted Swing Arm Anchor Track™ System provides a versatile fall protection solution for work areas that require semi-circular coverage. This system can be mounted to existing wall columns (column-mounted) and has a 180-degree arm rotation. The Swing Arm can swing out as needed and swing back out of the way of overhead cranes. Both the Swing Arm and its trolley follow the worker, keeping the trolley positioned directly above the user at all times—minimizing swing fall hazards. Standard fall protection spans range from six to 30 feet with standard system weights between 200 and 2,285 pounds.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Our systems are designed for maximum person weight, plus tools, to be 310 pounds when used with 1350 maximum average arresting force (MAAF) energy absorbing self-retracting lanyards. Custom systems are available for heavier workers up to 420 pounds; please inquire with our technical sales team for more information.

Traveling Bridge Fall Protection System

Traveling Bridge Fall Protection System

Rigid Lifelines

Rigid Lifelines® Traveling Bridge Anchor Track™ System is ideal for larger maintenance applications, such as aircraft hangars, aircraft production facilities, transportation vehicle maintenance facilities, and industrial applications. The Traveling Bridge system is sold as both a standard assembly kit and as a custom engineered system. This system can be ceiling mounted to a building’s existing supports or bolted to the floor with freestanding support columns and headers. This solution provides unencumbered movement by allowing the trolley to follow the user in any direction (360 degrees) and minimizes swing fall hazards when used with a self-retracting lanyard (SRL).

Features

  • Can be ceiling mounted or freestanding
  • Keeps the attachment point directly overhead to minimize swing fall hazards
  • Ceiling-mounted system attaches to existing support structure, provided it is strong enough to hold the system
  • Freestanding system is compatible with overhead cranes
  • By using existing support steel, a ceiling-mounted traveling bridge system can support virtually unlimited track lengths
  • Quick and simple field assembly with bolt-together components — no welding required
  • Enclosed track design decreases the possibility of dirt or dust build-up interfering with trolley travel
  • Anchor Trolley™ comes standard
  • Meets or exceeds OSHA and ANSI standards
  • The internally tapered track self-centers trolleys and end trucks, so rolling movement is smooth, quiet, and highly ergonomic

Options

  • Flush-mount connection

Rigid Lifelines Ceiling-Mounted Monorail

Rigid Lifelines Ceiling-Mounted Monorail

Rigid Lifelines

Rigid Lifelines® Ceiling-Mounted Monorail Anchor Track™ System is sold as individual components, a standard assembly kit, or as a custom engineered system. This system provides straight rigid track fall protection on a fixed path for many applications, such as truck loading and unloading, vehicle or machinery maintenance, and manufacturing. Because a ceiling-mounted monorail system does not require support columns, the system does not take floor space, which means more space for your workers. In fact, ceiling-mounted monorail systems can easily protect workers in tall ceiling height applications. By using existing support steel, a ceiling-mounted monorail system can easily support long runs and curves within the system design.

Features

  • Always mounts to existing support structure
  • Easily accommodates long spans of fall protection coverage
  • Great for tight bays with limited floor space
  • Workers can move up to 30 degrees off center to gain more coverage area
  • Quick and simple field assembly with bolt-together components — no welding required
  • Enclosed track design decreases the possibility of dirt or dust build-up interfering with trolley travel
  • Anchor Trolley™ comes standard
  • Meets or exceeds OSHA and ANSI standards
  • The internally tapered track self-centers trolleys and end trucks, so rolling movement is smooth, quiet, and highly ergonomic

Options

  • Flush-mount connection
  • Drop-rod mount connection: Drops rods can be any length and require sway bracing supplied by others
  • Sloped drop-rod mount connection: accommodates slopes up to 14 degrees and requires sway bracing supplied by others
  • Bar joist mount connection
  • Wood joist mount connection
  • Custom mount connections
  • Single, dual, or multiple tracks for use by one, two, or multiple workers
  • Switches allow multiple users to move in different directions on the same track

  • Stainless steel track
  • Intermediate bumpers can be used to limit trolley travel between the factory-installed end stops for any reason
  • Any color paint, epoxy coatings, or galvanized finish
Column-Mounted Fold-Away

Column-Mounted Fold-Away

Rigid Lifelines

Rigid Lifelines® Fold-Away Anchor Track™ System works perfectly for facilities that need a fall arrest solution that folds up and out of the way. This system is often used in facilities where workers need protection under overhead cranes, floor space is unusable, or maintenance is occurring in narrow bays with no workable ceilings. When the arms are fully extended, the system provides workers with a fixed path of rigid track fall protection. Users can travel up to 30 degrees off-center of the track. When not in use, the track and its arms can be folded against their support columns (e.g., the wall), leaving room for large overhead cranes. Locking mechanisms keep the system locked in place during use or storage. Track lengths of 40 feet or more allow multiple work areas to be covered by a single fall protection system.

Features

  • Span multiple work areas with one fall protection system
  • Can be column mounted or foundation mounted (freestanding)
  • Easily folds away to provide fall protection that will not interfere with overhead cranes
  • Standard track lengths are between 23 and 163 feet (custom distances available)
  • Standard arm reach distances are between 6 and 20 feet (custom distances available)
  • Support spacing distances up to 50 feet
  • Quick and simple field assembly with bolt-together components — no welding required (Exception: Motorized rotation option requires welding)

Options

  • Custom heights, spans, and support structures

Send us the height, we'll tell you what fits

Distance to the floor, where the anchor can go, and what the work involves. If there isn't room to arrest a fall we'll say so and look at restraint or a rail system instead.
